The Program: Week by Week

Week 1

Digital Foundations

Students learn how the internet and websites work, get hands-on with their first HTML and CSS, and are introduced to AI tools they will use throughout the program. The goal is curiosity and confidence — showing students that web design is something they can do.

Week 2

Design Thinking & AI

Students learn to design before they build — how to plan a webpage, think about users, and use AI image and design tools to generate visual concepts. They produce their first complete webpage design by the end of this week.

Week 3

Build & Deploy

Students turn their designs into working websites using modern tools. They learn deployment — publishing a website live on the internet that anyone can visit — and understand the professional workflow from idea to live product.

Week 4

Portfolio & Presentation

Students complete a final project: a personal portfolio or cause-based website that represents real work they built. They present their projects, discuss the career possibilities in tech, and leave with a live website to show parents, teachers, and future employers.

What Students Actually Build

Every student in the program builds and deploys a real website that is live on the internet by the end of week four. This is not a simulation or a classroom exercise — it is a real URL that anyone can visit. Students choose their own project: a personal profile page, a website for a family business, a community resource about a topic they care about, or a portfolio of creative work.

The final project is presented to the class, with students explaining what they built, what challenges they solved, and what they would build next. This presentation experience — communicating technical work to a non-technical audience — is itself a valuable skill that most students have rarely had the opportunity to develop before university.
